Compare gold rates and silver rates or use the savings calculators for FD, RD and PPF.
Platinum prices reference international spot platinum in US dollars, converted to rupees. MCX lists platinum futures in India, providing a domestic price-discovery benchmark for traders, though retail jewellery prices still follow import costs and margins.
Nelstack aggregates indicative retail reference rates from jeweller and market sources — not official IBJA or MCX settlement feeds. Jewellery prices include making charges and GST that are not in the base metal quote.
Platinum jewellery in India is typically alloyed to 95% purity (Pt 950) or 90% (Pt 900) for durability. Investment products may quote higher fineness. The per-gram rates above reflect the reference purity from our data sources.
Platinum is rarer than gold and silver; retail availability is narrower, which can widen bid-ask spreads.
Tax treatment (GST, capital gains, TCS where applicable) depends on product type and holding period. Refer to the Income Tax Department and GST Council notifications for current rules.
Platinum has at times traded above gold and at other times below, depending on automotive and industrial cycles. In India, retail awareness is lower than gold, so liquidity on resale can be thinner. Refer to the 10-day history for recent price direction only.
Relative prices depend on industrial demand, mine supply and investment flows. Platinum and gold are not pegged to each other — compare both rates on Nelstack for the same date.
Domestic quotes derive from international spot platinum and USD/INR, plus import and dealer margins. MCX futures provide an additional reference for traders.
Jewellery includes making charges and fashion premiums that may not recover on resale. Platinum is less liquid than gold in many Indian cities. This page is for price reference, not investment recommendations.
Pt 950 means the alloy is 95% platinum by weight, a common standard for fine platinum jewellery.
Disclaimer: Rates on Nelstack are indicative reference prices aggregated from published jeweller and market sources. They exclude making charges, GST, TCS and other levies. Contact your jeweller or bullion dealer for exact pricing before any purchase or sale. This is not financial advice.
GST applies on platinum jewellery and related services per current GST notifications. Verify with your jeweller at purchase.
MCX offers platinum futures contracts. These are leveraged instruments for hedging and speculation, not a substitute for buying physical jewellery.
Updates follow our ingestion schedule when sources publish new prices. See the 'Updated' line at the top of this page.
White gold is a gold alloy (often with palladium or nickel) priced primarily on gold content. Platinum is a separate metal with its own spot price — compare using the gold and platinum pages for the same date.
